49er

49er and 49erFX is a double-handed siff-type high-performance sailing dingy. A skipper and a crew work on it hanging on a trapeze just above the water. Skiff-type boats characterizes big tip-ups and demand precise cooparation from the two crew.

Great speeds of 49er's are possible thanks to the huge body work of a team, as well as sails and rudder work. Due to rapid action changes, a skipper and a crew has to non-stop cooperate. The skipper makes tactical decisions - where to sail, how to use the wind the best way or how to set in relation to opponents. The crew has to control the boat speed and look around the area to gather relevant information for his skipper-partner.

Venue

The venue of the regatta is Gdynia - modern resort of maritime, international trade, education, culture and turism. Gdynia is often called the success city and enterprising, active and courageous people.

The competition's base is Marina Gdynia. The races take place along Nadmorski Boulevard.

Race course

Competition formula has been prepared specially for increasing of rivalry pageantry. The course is planned maximum close to the bank. Competitors are rounding buoys in a distance of several dozen meters from the shoreline.
